The show begins with "The 13th Struggle" from Kingdom Hearts 2 by Yoko Shimomura, a lively and energetic piece of music that captures the excitement and anticipation of entering the cathedral. This is followed by Symphony No. 4 by David Maslanka, which features powerful brass and percussion sections, evoking the grandeur and majesty of a cathedral's architecture."Old Hundredth" by Loys Bourgeois, a classic hymn that has been performed in churches for centuries leads into Requiem, Op. 9: IV. Sanctus by Maurice Duruflé, a solemn and reverent piece of music that brings the audience to a place of contemplation and reflection.A delicate flute solo from Symphony No. 4 opens the final movement, leading into "Angels in the Architecture" by Frank Ticheli, which features a soaring melody and a lush, expansive sound that perfectly captures the spiritual essence of a cathedral. The show then takes a modern turn with "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd and comes to a triumphant conclusion with a reprise of "Old Hundredth." Sanctuary is a show that will inspire and uplift audiences of all ages, celebrating the power of music and the spirituality of sacred spaces.
