In Greek mythology, Zeus is the king of the gods and the ruler of Mount Olympus. He is the god of the sky and thunder, and he is often depicted wielding a thunderbolt.

Using the music of Gustav Mahler, Forged takes us on a journey through the creation, power, and use of Zeus' thunderbolt. The show is divided into three parts:


Part 1: Forged Lightning

As the show opens, the powerful and beautiful thunderbolt is being forged. The thunderbolt is Zeus' most powerful weapon, and it is said to be able to destroy anything it strikes.


Part 2: Thunderclouds

In this scherzo movement, Zeus' treasured weapon is stolen and hidden in a thundercloud.


Part 3: The Might of Zeus

Zeus is a jealous god, and he does not want anyone else to have his most powerful weapon. He retrieves the thunderbolt and uses it to protect Olympus and its inhabitants from harm.
