NEW SHOWS FOR 2025 UPDATED DAILY!
PRODUCTION NOTES
This show is a love letter to all things Cinema. Whether it’s new or old, a fabled Epic, an intimate Romance, or futuristic Sci-Fi, this production explores the experience of going to the theater and seeing amazing things never before imagined. It’s the place where heartbreak feels good, the place where the stories on the screen are everything you can dream of, and more. Here… At The Movies. The first movement is heralded by Jerry Goldsmith’s classic “Universal Studios Theme,” the invocation to many a timeless epic. One that inspired many was Ben-Hur, where the opener draws its source music. Miklós Rósza’s score invokes the grandeur of massive battles, the devastation of betrayal, and chariot races that bring you to the edge of your seat. Suddenly, the projector breaks down, and there is a brief intermission, represented by a lighthearted rendition of “Let’s All Go To The Lobby.”The projector is now fixed, and the "Columbia Pictures Theme” by Jonathan Elias brings all eyes back to the show. Nino Rota’s “Love Theme” from Romeo and Juliet, an old favorite on the field, recalls every romance, every drawn-out moment before a breathless kiss, and every tearful embrace that film has to offer.Michael Giacchino’s “Marvel Theme” brings out the hero in all of us, a larger-than-life presence that defines a great superhero or Sci-Fi flick. Fittingly, Bernard Herrmann’s The Day The Earth Stood Still score is the next movement, the sci-fi movie that defined a generation filled with constant fear and heroism. Uncertainty and fear set the tone for this movement before a triumphant resolution brings the audience home, knowing they just experienced something powerful. Together.
